Amelia Kinahoi Siamomua is a development economist, and a former diplomat and international civil servant of the Commonwealth (in London) and the United Nations (in New York and at country and regional posts).  She is currently the Principal Consultant for her consultancy network, Lalanga – 4Cs (Coordination, Cooperation, Commitment, Care); an Independent Director of the public company, The Metals Company; founder and Principal Consultant for #RoadToFaaimata2022 Initiative (of an alumni group of Tonga High School) and a passionate practitioner and promoter of women’s rights and sustainable development. 

Amelia has a BA in Economics and Politics from the University of the South Pacific (USP); undertook post-graduate studies in Business Administration and Executive Leadership and Development studies at the Kennedy School of Government.  In 1982-83 whilst at the USP, Amelia was elected as the Women’s Representative and Chair of the Social Committee of the USP Students’ Association. During her more than 35 years professional career, she served as the President of the Commonwealth’s Staff Association and was a member of the United Nations Staff Association’s Arbitrary Committee and worked on development assistance and cooperation in countries in the African, Asian, Caribbean, Pacific and Eastern European regions of the Commonwealth and the United Nations. 

Amelia was born and raised in Nuku’alofa, Tonga in the South Pacific and has adopted Atlanta, GA as her US-based home.  She and her husband are proud grandparents of four lovely grandkids.
