FARROKH D. KAMDIN: past BOARD MEMBER

Farrokh spent three and a half decades in private industry in various senior management positions and in management consulting positions. He has worked at corporations such as Walt Disney, Price Waterhouse Coopers, and Pfizer, Inc. Along with his professional pursuits, he also led a non-profit cancer foundation based in the United States with a mission to transfer the latest medical technology to India to treat poor patients. With a deep interest in industrial policy and economic development in the 1990s, he interacted with the then prime minister Mr. Rajiv Gandhi to assist in his vision of moving India towards a market driven economy.

Currently, Farrokh’s interests lie in the intersection of Business and Public Policy. He believes that Business increasingly needs to take into account geo-politics and issues of national security when making capital investment and technology decisions. Whether it is fossil fuels or electronic chips, rapidly changing geo-politics requires leaders to be forward looking and resilient in management of resources and intellectual capital.

Farrokh enjoys political fund-raising. In the past, he has organized fund-raisers in New York for the late U.S. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. He has two sons, 16 and 18 years, studying in Maryland. They actively participate in local politics, mid-term election campaigning, community work and in competitive sports of tennis and swimming.
